 About

Our Story

SEP is a musical theatre school that provides professional and passionate faculty in a safe, professional, yet fun environment. We offer private voice and acting lessons, a variety of master classes and workshops, in addition to varied performance opportunities. All of the services offered by SEP are open to the children of Newtown and the surrounding communities. Whether a students' intent is to study the performing arts as a career choice or soley for enjoyment, we work individually with our students to help them become technically proficient as a dancer, singer, actor, or musician (or all of these wonderful talents).

Our Mission

SEP's programs and nurturing environment will enhance each students' creativity, adventure and joy while building a strong sense of self, discovery of personal talents and foundation skills needed to pursue a career in the performing arts. We encourage our students to reach for the stars and their dreams by offering professional 1-on-1 or group training, workshops and performance opportunities. SEP provides the techniques and skills needed to learn and grow in the field of performing arts. These skills offer a life time of artistic expression and appreciation. Ultimately, our goal is to share the wonderful gift and talent of our students with the community.

Our Studio & Theatre

We are now located in the historic Edmond Town Hall at 45 Main Street in Newtown, Connecticut. We love our small and cozy studio across the hallway from the historic and restored theatre. This theatre is where we perform our all-school musicals. Please check out the Musicals page for scheduled auditions for our upcoming productions.

Founder’s Notes

My inspiration to become a teacher stemmed from wanting to be there to help and support students while sharing my passion of music and theatre. I wanted to help students strive to reach their goals while allowing them to open up, gain confidence, and become happier, more well-rounded people. One special part of my job, as a performing arts teacher, is being able to watch a student evolve. I have had the opportunity to experience students transform and become something amazing. There have been many times where students cry tears of happiness and joy because they are so proud of themselves and what they have accomplished. As the founder and one of the master teachers, my goal is to provide the children of Newtown and the surrounding communities a rich, in-depth, exciting, fun, and passionate education in the performing arts.
